High energy, focused shockwave therapy is one of the most promising new treatment modalities available in veterinary medicine. It has shown dramatic results in treating tendon, ligament, and joint injuries as well as chronic back pain.

Preventive Medicine

Lameness Evaluation

At Old Dominion Equine Associates, we pride ourselves on a reasoned approach to sport horse lameness with emphasis on longterm goals for our equine athletes. By isolating the area of concern through systematic examination, we are able to focus treatment allowing rapid resolution of lameness.

From breeding stock to Olympic level performance horses, the veterinarians of Old Dominion Equine Associates combine knowledge and experience to provide the highest quality service to our clients.

Reproductive Care

Old Dominion Equine Associates maintains a varied breeding clientele, ranging from single mare and stallion owners to large breeding farms. From the onset of estrus, during breeding, and throughout gestation, we offer complete care to our clients animals. In addition to routine breeding services, we also offer breeding soundness examination for mares and stallions, semen collection and shipment, as well as frozen semen services.

Neonatal Care

The veterinarians at Old Dominion Equine Associates are always available to attend foalings and to provide intensive care on-site for sick foals.

Emergency

24 hour emergency care is always available. We are prepared to diagnose and treat conditions such as colic, lacerations, and acute lameness on the farm day or night.
